Hemp Hop LLC ("Hemp Hop," "we," "us," or "our") operates the hemphop.co website and the Hemp Hop mobile application (together, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through the mobile app, how we use and share it, and the choices you have. By using the Service you agree to this Policy.

Information you provide

  • Account & contact information — your email address (used to sign in), and, if you choose to provide them, your name, phone number, and delivery/shipping address. You can browse, search, and use most of the app without an account; an account is only needed for order history, saved addresses, rewards, and account deletion.
  • Date of birth — optional, only if you add it to earn loyalty/birthday rewards.
  • Messages to our AI assistant ("Herbie") — the text you type when you chat with our in-app shopping assistant.
  • Age confirmation — you confirm you are 21 or older at first launch. This is a yes/no confirmation; we do not collect a date of birth or ID for the age gate.

Information collected automatically

  • Approximate location — with your permission, we use your device's approximate location once to route you to the nearest store (Charlotte or Houston). Your GPS coordinates are converted to a ZIP code on your device and are not stored; if you decline, we fall back to an approximate location from your IP address. We do not collect precise/continuous location and do not track your location in the background.
  • Order and purchase information — your order history and status, retrieved from our commerce platform to show your orders and delivery tracking.
  • Device identifiers — a push-notification token (only if you opt in to notifications) and an anonymous app-session identifier used to operate the AI assistant and for rate-limiting/security.
  • Usage & diagnostics — how you interact with the app (screens viewed, taps, scrolls) and basic diagnostic information, collected for analytics (see below).

Payment information

We do not collect or store your payment card details in the app. Checkout is completed on our payment processor's (Shopify) secure hosted checkout; card entry happens there, not in the app.

How we use your information

  • To provide the Service: show products, process and fulfill orders, and provide delivery tracking.
  • To manage your account, saved addresses, and rewards.
  • To power the AI shopping assistant.
  • To send order, delivery, and (if you opt in) other notifications.
  • To provide customer support.
  • To understand and improve the app (analytics).
  • To protect the Service against fraud and abuse.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information, we do not share it for advertising, we use no advertising networks, and we do not use an advertising identifier. We share information only as follows:

  • Service providers acting on our behalf — Shopify (commerce, customer accounts, and hosted checkout), Cloudflare (hosts our app's backend services), Supabase (delivery-tracking database), Growave (loyalty/rewards), Zapiet (pickup/delivery scheduling), Judge.me (product reviews), and Expo, Apple, and Google (delivery of push notifications). When you chat with Herbie, your typed messages are sent to our AI providers, Anthropic and Voyage AI, solely to generate a response; we do not send them your name, email, or order details, and your conversations are not stored on our servers. On Android, map tiles are served by Google Maps; approximate-location lookups may use ipapi.co.
  • Analytics — In the mobile app, we use Microsoft Clarity, a third-party product-analytics and session-replay tool, to understand how the app is used (taps, scrolls, and screens). Recording is automatically paused on screens that contain personal information (such as the address form and checkout), and these recordings are not linked to your identity. On our website (hemphop.co), we also use Google Analytics to measure website traffic; Google's use of that data is governed by Google's privacy policy (policies.google.com/privacy). The app uses no advertising networks and no advertising identifier.
  • Legal & safety — when required to comply with law, enforce our terms, or protect the rights, property, or safety of Hemp Hop, our users, or the public.

Push notifications

Notifications are opt-in. We do not prompt for them on first launch; you can enable or disable them from the Account tab or your device settings at any time.

Data security

All data sent between the app and our services is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS). Sign-in tokens are stored in your device's secure storage (iOS Keychain / Android Keystore).

Data retention

We keep personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. We may retain records of completed orders and transactions where required by law (tax, regulatory, and recordkeeping obligations); these are not used for marketing and are deleted when no longer legally required.

Your rights and choices

  • Delete your account and data — in the app: Account → Delete account. You can also request deletion without the app at hemphop.co/pages/account-deletion.
  • Access or update your profile and addresses from the Account tab.
  • Notifications — opt out anytime from the Account tab or device settings.
  • Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights (access, correction, deletion); contact us using the details below to exercise them.

Children's privacy

The Service is intended only for adults 21 and older and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

International users

We operate in the United States and the Service is offered to U.S. users; your information is processed in the United States.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Policy from time to time and will post the updated version here with a new effective date.
